Common Ground: Overlooking Our Differences

common-ground-300x238There are many distractions in this world and most of them are just trivial stuff. So why do we pay more attention to things that doesn’t matter? This has actually ruined many homes and friendships. There are bigger things to concentrate on even though there are some other small things, too, which of course are important. But, it seems the trivial stuff are gaining more of our attention and we tend to focus on it so much until it causes us problems.

Some people like to squeeze the toothpaste tube from the bottom of the tube, and maybe with someone who squeezes it from the middle. Each person has their reasons for doing it that way and tends to annoy the other just a little. The person who squeezes the tube from the bottom could think, at least I am with a person who brushes their teeth regularly, while the other person could think, they’re trying not to be wasteful of toothpaste and the tube looks neater.

In the grand scheme of things though some things really don’t matter that much, but by focusing on them, they can made into a big deal.

I am just naturally a very curious person and a trait I don’t know that I could ever truly suppress. Once my curiosity has been satisfied and there is a logical explanation for doing something, I think people will see that I am a reasonable person. Let’s appreciate our differences and work together to achieve a common goal.
